Prendi una cadrega

"Prendi una cadrega" is a phrase in Northern Italian dialects, primarily Milanese, that translates to "Take a seat" or "Take a chair" in English.

The term "cadrega" means "chair" in several northern Italian dialects and is derived from the Latin word cathedra

The phrase is notably associated with a popular comedy sketch by the Italian trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, where the word "cadrega" and the "inganno della cadrega" (the "chair trick") are recurring jokes. This cultural reference has made the term widely recognized even outside the specific dialect areas.
